This seminar is available as a 1 or 2 day course.  Two day versions include local experts on estate and financial planning.

This seminar provides employees at the mid-career level with an understanding of how their federal benefits will help them meet their retirement goals.  It is designed to meet the needs of employees who are more than 10 years away from retirement eligibility and have at least 5 years of service.  Emphasis will be placed on investment strategies and management of the TSP.  Students will be introduced to online calculators which help them project TSP account balances at retirement and illustrate how much income their TSP accounts may generate in retirement.  They will learn what they must do to get credit for non-covered civilian positions and military service when calculating their FERS annuities.  Disability and survivor benefits will be covered.  Students will receive an in-depth explanation of FEGLI and how it will change in retirement, which will help them in exploring alternatives today. And they will learn the value of other federal insurances now and in retirement.
